We let you, the artist, charge the price that you think is fair for your music and any other merchandise, and give you back 80% of the sales value. In addition, we feature your music on one of our radio stations, alongside many other great independent artists in your genre (more genres to come!). There is NO other company on or off the Internet that provides the services we offer to independent artists at such low rates.
What type of music does OutboundMusic.com catalog? We accept only top-quality indepenent music from all musical genres. We approve only submissions from artists owning their masters or from that artist's legal representative. We are listening for good production quality, songs that are well-written and well-performed, and we do not want music containing lyrics that promote hate, bigotry, or violence. Controversial subject matter is ok. Expressions of anger or other emotions is ok. Language is ok--it's what is said, not how it's said that matters.
Are there any fees associated with membership?
We charge a one-time, non-refundable fee of $5.00 for your initial music submission/membership request. Beyond that, there are no fees. We believe the privilege of dealing only in quality music is compensation enough to offset the work we do for you.
What will you do for me, the artist?
1. We provide a web page with bio information, picture, a link to your web site and a fully-functional store for selling your music and merchandise. Your music can be sold as digital singles, digital CDs and/or physical CDs. You may also sell other merchandise (t-shirts, caps, stickers, etc). We take care of all shipping and sales tax payments. For your fans' convenience, we accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, and we usually ship within 24 hours.
2. We feature clips of all your singles on your OutboundMusic page.
3. Your songs will be considered for broadcast on our Internet Radio.
4. HTML Code to sell your music on any website you control. We can provide you with the HTML code that will allow you to sell your music on your own website, your MySpace page or on any other website you control.
5. Credit card sales for your live shows. If desired, we will provide you with an OutboundMusic credit card swipe machine and credit card slips. We will process all charges you present to us, and send the payment along with your payment for that month's online sales. A $35.00 deposit is required for this service.
6. For the first two years of business, we licensed our radio with ASCAP and BMI. However, our songwriters were not receiving any royalty payments, so we have since opted to decline such licensing. Instead, we now offer a 'radio dividend' to each artist who broadcasts on OutboundMusic Radio. A minimum of ten percent of all radio advertisement revenue and any radio tips are to be distributed among our artists.
7.We often include information about special performances in our newsletters to fans and artists across the globe.
8.If you do not have a web site that offers your performance schedule, we can provide that feature on your OutboundMusic page.
9. You will be featured on our homepage on a rotating basis.
10. We occasionally sponsor live music events and will invite you to come and be part of our event, if the schedule permits.
How much will I make from music and merchandise sales?
You set the sale price of your CDs and merchandise and receive 80% from any online sales and 92% from any live sales using your OutboundMusic credit card swipe machine.

How do I get paid?
We pay artists by check or via PayPal. For check payment, we pay monthly when the amount we owe is at least $10.00. For PayPal, we pay monthly or as payment is requested.
