About the Guitarist Steve Terwilliger
Born in Michigan and raised in the heartland of central Illinois, Steve has been entertaining people with his unique style of guitar musicianship from coast to coast. Steve, a guitarist for over 40 years, had his beginnings in folk/rock and gospel. Later on he studied classical guitar under Russell Brazzel at Milliken University, and George Yeatman (Peabody Conservatory).
After Steve's classical recital days, his focus began towards Jazz and Blues. This eventually led to his discovery of the music of Pat Metheny. "This one guitarist had a profound influence on my entire approach to music, especially in the area of imagery", says Steve.
" Terwilliger is an accomplished solo guitarist adept at classical, jazz, blues and rock styles." - Battle Creek Enquirer
"I have been playing the guitar for 40 years and been in many groups/bands all over the United States. I have performed solo on the East Coast, West Coast and throughout the Midwest. I have recorded a number of CD's through the years as well as recorded for a number of other bands and artists." - Steve Terwilliger
In Steve's latest recordings, Troubled Nights, a more jazz influenced, new age sounding recording was the focus. Recorded at several places in the United States, The direction is back to the guitar. The New CD also has a cut from a Experimental Relaxation CD called In My Dreams, which highlights a more orchestrated approach for composition.
Late 2010, Steve will be putting out his 1995 classical recordings.
Whether in live performance or on recordings, Steve continues to produce that image in your mind with his very special music. |
