Reggie was born and raised in the Christian church. "I was raised by a God fearing mother and a hard working father. I started singing at about the age of 4 or 5 in the Sunshine Band at my mother's church (Emanuel COGIC in northern Indiana). I just kept on singing... through sports, college, in choirs, groups and praise teams up until now," said Reggie. His first real step into the music scene was with a group called "Spirit" comprised of as many as 8 singers and 5 musicians. This group was very successful in the midwest region of the country, utilizing tight vocals, original songs, and cover tunes from the Hawkins family. Apart from the work with Spirit, most of Reggie's adult music experience has been as a praise and worship leader or music director in various churches. Recognized by Ebony Magazine for his debut album released on the TM Records label entitled, "He's Always Standing There", Reggie was nominated for a GEM Award, and is also an Indiana Black Expo male vocal category winner. |
