Throughout his debut album “Humility”, singer/songwriter Noel Peterson successfully wrote, orchestrated and recorded eleven songs built around pure emotion and the array of beautiful and haunting experiences endured in his life so far. On this music debut, Noel exquisitely combines his soulful and raspy vocals with highly unconventional and percussive guitar playing rhythms and leads, aspiring to give listeners and fans true insight into a life filled with love, hope and passion. In the songs “Speed,” “On My Way” and “Open Up Your Mind,” listeners will experience intense crescendos and decrescendos of music and emotion, hopelessly relating the lyrics and song meanings to their own lives well lived. Musically inspired by artists such as Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan and Marvyn Gaye, Noel has created an eclectic mix of songs that will long resonate in the hearts and souls of those who are willing to open up their minds to brilliant music.
The inception of this album began two years ago when Noel went into the music studio in Los Angeles to record two new songs called “Take Yourself a Breath” and “My Mind and You,” in which he wrote in newfound, and quite abnormal, ways of tuning of his guitar strings. Throughout the following two years, and in three different styles of guitar tunings, Noel wrote, produced and recorded all eleven of these beautifully haunting songs on his own, including the drums, bass, guitars and vocals, before sending off to sound engineer Clint Gibbs (of Conway Studios in Hollywood) to produce and bring to life the final mix you hear today.
It’s been a lot of time and hard work in the making of these songs, and an absolute pleasure to write them as well.
Enjoy…
