MacAdams is a progressive band that was formed in the fall of 2007, but that is really just the end of the beginning. The beginning took place in Robyn and Perry MacAdams' bedroom 15 years ago. This team of brothers and friends have been duking it out sonically ever since. Robyn MacAdams began his songwriting as a guitarist in earnest when he was a teenager and, consequently, moved his focus into the study of music theory and performance. After completing all of the theory courses at the University of Houston, the next logical step was to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Perry, his younger brother, also completed all the theory courses at the University of North Texas as a percussion major and studied afro-cuban and jazz music. Their scholastic studies paid off when they reunited after moving back to Houston. The real difference obtained through their respective studies was a sense of direction and purpose behind the MacAdams brothers' writing. They had the chops. They had the creativity. All they needed was a bassist that could keep up with them. Enter Jake.

Jake Bramwell has been playing in bands based in the Austin and Houston music scene for 15 years. After trying Jake out only once, it was apparent that there was a synergy between Jake and the MacAdams boys that transcended musical training. With Robyn's creative songwriting, guitar, and vocal abilities, Perry's 'rock your face off and leave you begging for more' drumming skills, and Jake's distinct and unique ability to blend the brothers' sometimes opposing musical views into a lush and organic tapestry of expressive passages, they decided it was time to share their collective gift with the world. This brings us back to the end of the beginning.

The power-trio performed their first show in December of 2007 with fanfare that has built steadily and without exception in each subsequent performance. With fans associating their sound to the likes of Rush, Phish, and Yes, it is no wonder that they were invited to play the Rock The Bayou music festival in Houston back in August. Since then, MacAdams has received the attention of Dan Workman (President of Sugar Hill Studios) and have recently completed the mastering and release of their debut album titled Two Worlds, produced by Dan Workman and MacAdams. They have also been sought after by other production companies like Bigtime Productions and The Greenlight Firm. MacAdams has, in less than a year, proven they are the real deal.
