Lisha has been singing and composing since she was eight years old and recording since she was 18. She took piano lessons for 8 years and often accompanies her music with piano compositions. Lisha attended Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts, in the Music Theatre program. During her four years there she participated in 11 shows, where she was in the chorus, small group performances, two solo numbers and a duet. She also participated in community theatre for six years, singing, dancing and acting. Lisha took vocal lessons with Ivan Zilman, at Scarborough Music in the Beaches for four years, during high school. She also met most of the members of her band at her high school in grade twelve. Lisha has performed in four gigs with her band, playing some covers but almost all of her originals. Most recently she organized a gig at Jack Astor’s for Haiti, raising $1000. Her strong vocals and catchy tunes, matched by her deep and easy to relate to lyrics and fresh sound will help her on her quest to break into the music industry. She is currently working with Producer, Mark Zubek on some new material in hopes to create a follow up to her first album, Nameless. Lisha’s enjoys many different genres of music; some of her favourite artists include Sarah McLachlan, Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, Jewel, Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Chantal Kreviazuk, The Fray, and Katy Perry.
INFLUENCE Lisha's main influence is her favourite band "Blondie". Not only is her band dynamic very similar to Blondies', so is her musical sound, especially her most recent "I'm a Brat". In Summer 2010, Lisha met with Music Guru, Greig Nori, to discuss the route her music and image should take. He has helped her integrate her interest in "Blondie" into her current image and sound.
Music has been an emotional outlet for Lisha and her creative side can be explored in her song writing ability. Her deep passion for music has allowed her to complete a Twelve Track C.D. by the time she was 19 years old, and she continues to create music in hopes of completing a second album.
MOTIVATION When Lisha was 21 she returned from a trip from Europe and became very ill. She was hospilatized and diagnosed with a rare disease, Kawasaki. She was sick for a few months and had a lot of time to reflect on her life experiences. She knew at that point that when she was better her life would be surrounded by music. She decided it was time to put all she had into her music career because she almost lost it all. In hopes to achieve her goals she finished her Degree in Psychology at York University and began working two jobs to afford her dream. Regardless of where her music takes her, she will cherish the experience and the memories that will last a lifetime.
