 Kay Endsley is a flutist based in Houston, TX. She delights in playing for others, particularly in a worship setting. “Like most musicians I enjoy pieces that are technically challenging, or pieces with intricate melodies. However, I want the music I present to be more than a performance that is stripped down to being only about the artist and how well he or she performs. My desire is for my music to be filled with emotion and reach into the soul. I want it to be therapeutic, to invade the listener’s being and touch them at the deepest level. I want them to walk away changed in some way, being a better person for having experienced the music I play.” Come as a Child is a flute and piano duo recorded by flutist, Kay Endsley, and worship leader and pianist, Austin Biel. It is an original musical conversation between flute and piano consisting of intricate piano strains, that are common to Austin’s unique style, combined with long flowing melodies from Kay’s flute. As the conversation between the flute and piano unfolds, a peaceful meditative atmosphere is created. It is an invitation to seek the comfort and reassurance of our loving Heavenly Father in the same manner a young child would seek the comfort of his daddy’s embrace. Music featured on this album was recorded live and spontaneously (without prewritten music or charts). In addition to her involvement with worship music Kay is a flute instructor, wife to husband David for 23 years, mother of 4 children, and home school mom. |
