Jon got started playing guitar at the age of 14. He had the good fortune of having his sister marry and talented musician by the name of Chris Murphy and soon joined his band "Crooked Wood". Crooked Wood was featured at the Mariposa Folk Festival in 2005. In addition to continuing to work with Crooked Wood, Jon is has also performed as a solo artist. In 2008, Jon recorded an album entitled the Auctioneer. A song from that CD, "Etta Baker" was included on a benefit CD entitled "Songs for the Algonquin" alongside tracks by the likes of Bruce Cockburn, Daniel Lanois, and Susan Aglukark. This CD was to benefit Bob Lovelace, who was imprisoned for protesting the unethnical takeover of Native land by a Uranium mining company.
Jon continues to write new material and gain fans across Canada.
