 Jennifer Haase (rhymes with "classy") is a singer/songwriter from Nebraska, now settled happily in NY where the music scene is ever-changing and suprisingly supportive of a folkie songstress strumming a 6-string on any stage that will host her. She writes about the usual stuff, but believes fully in the practice of personal perspective in lyrical expression. "I like applying a new approach or little twist to a topic we've all covered a zillion times. Like a love song, but from Santa to his wife. (Dear Mrs. Claus) Like an image of brushing off a lover like you would a stray strand of hair. (Loose Strand) I love that kind of personal perspective on the same old things." Haase's debut disc, LISTENING CHAIR, has been a personal success story, opening doors and making friends for this mid-western born artist since the late 90's. She is finally working on her second CD, called NO MORE INVITATIONS which will feature special guest vocals from Rosanne Cash and Stephen Kellogg. NO MORE INVITATIONS is due to release in January 2010. Haase's singing voice has appeared on several nationally aired television commercials, from cell phones to cosmetics. She has added backing vocal tracks to a handful of other LP's, including her major-label backed buddy Stephen Kellogg's disc "South of Stephen." Kellogg and Haase co-wrote "Another Midas Story" featured on Kellogg's disc. Haase has also added backing vocals for Patty Ocfemia, Astro Chicken, Chris Sayre and Gretchen Witt. "This music makin' thing is an incredible way to build community, feed from some delicious creative energy and make some great, and incredibly talented, friends. I love being an independent artist out here promoting what I've got while being blown away by the other artists working this side of the biz, too." |
