HANS STOCKENBERGER, Bass Baritone, Composer-Artist, ASCAP, is a frequent solo artist and Musical theatre performer as well as a composer of contemporary music. Accepted into the Singing Boys of Houston at age 8, he was a featured soloist in School and Church choirs. Mr. Stockenberger moved with his family to Saudi Arabia at age 11, becoming immersed in sounds of a new culture which influenced his musical composition. At age 14 he launched his first Rock group, followed by his elite singing group in High School back in the USA named "The Riddlers" and his collegiate Jazz-Rock group "Step Light." After pursuing studies in Voice and Jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mr. Stockenberger returned to Houston in 2005 to begin studies in Opera and Classical music, winning 2nd place in the NATS competition Adult Division 1 in 2006. His featured roles in Opera and Musical Theatre include Sarastro in Mozart's "The Magic Flute," the Grand Wazir in "Kismet" adapted from Borodin by Wright and Forrest, Simone in Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi," and Imperial General in Elton John's Rock Musical "Aida," and upcoming performances in the choir at Opera in the Heights.
