"Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass." – Paul Meyer
Auret’s story is about liberation through pursuit of passion. For this creative entrepreneur, prosperity is measured through self- fulfillment and a ravenous drive to pursue a life dream. With this philosophy, Auret has established herself as a singer, songwriter, award winner, business woman, designer, poet and actress. And her journey has just begun.
“Precious Moments” – The Early Years
Born in South Africa, this singer has come to appreciate various types of music, from 80s pop to middle-eastern sounds to modern hip hop/R&B.
From as young as age 4, Auret would often dress up and perform in home-made music videos, singing to classic tunes of Ace of Base and Technotronic. After moving to Canada at age 9, Auret achieved her first publication of her poem “To My Sister, Liat”, which motivated her to write more poetry. Becoming more intuitive to various sounds and syllables within the English language, she eventually found her passion for lyrical writing. Throughout school, she spent her spare time writing, doing background work on movie sets and entering various singing competitions like her high school “Idol” contest where she performed in a group to an NTrance remix of the Beegees infamous hit “Stayin Alive”. They were called the “Beegettes”.
“Can’t Stand the Pressure” – Transition Mode
Never achieving less than an ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade in high school or post-secondary education, Auret went on to major in Psychology and Pre-Med at the University of British Columbia. She dedicated her life to a routine of “school, study, sleep, and repeat” but after graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree, she felt that something was missing and started to question her lack of excitement to start a career in medicine. Medicine was no longer a dream job. In late 2009, Auret attended an introductory seminar to Joint Ventures and was introduced to a different mindset that would change her life forever. She began reading books like “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, “Atlas Shrugged”, and the “4hr Work Week” and began to understand the true meaning of creating one’s own destiny.
“Fire Then Aim” – Action Phase
A creative entrepreneur was born. Auret has hosted/presented various financial empowerment seminars for members of the Rotary Club and other youth, became the Marketing Director of a multi-level marketing company and eventually co-founded her own business called Essetino ConneXions, helping other artists market and brand themselves online.
At the same time, Auret was also pursuing her singing career with choir performances and vocal training lessons from Speech-Level-Singing coach Cecile LaRochelle. She also spent a year taking acting and performance lessons with John Robert Powers and was eventually chosen to compete in Las Vegas (July 2010) and Los Angeles (January 2011) at an International Convention for singers, actors and models. She competed against hundreds of other performers from around the world and brought home a trophy for 3rd runner up in the adult singing divisions, along with 4 other awards for various competing categories in both acting and singing divisions.
“I Am” – In the Present
Auret`s talent for lyrical and melodic composition led her to begin working on her first album with music producer Nick Hope of HMP Recording. Her debut album entitled “I Am” (released May 2011) combines empowering lyrics with urban beats and pop/rock music; some of her influences include Evanescence, Lauren Hill, Michael Jackson and Rihanna. Auret is featured in numerous independent artist showcases across B.C. and was interviewed for a Podcast by Memro Talent Management. Along with the help of her Personal Manager, Jewel Tolentino, Auret is continuing to develop her repository of lyrics by writing one song every 10 days and is also continuing to pursue her singing career by promoting her album onstage and online. |
