 Singer/songwriter and Texas native Aryn Michelle began writing music at the age of 15 years and now she just can't stop. Her love for music has inspired her to write, co-produce and release seven indie demos of my her own original material before stepping into a pro studio to release her indie debut "Lockless Heart." Her style has been described as alternative pop/rock with a flavor of country and a pinch of jazz. She is a versatile singer/songwriter who writes all her own material, sings, plays the piano and guitar. In 2006, she graduated summa cum laude from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Communication. After graduation, she devoted a year to work for AmeriCorps, a non-profit organization that addresses critical needs in communities all across America. She also spent time focusing on touring in venues, clubs, and festivals around Austin, Texas. Aryn Michelle has recently completed a certificate program from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with emphasis in Songwriting. While in New England, she toured with her Boston-based band. While at Berklee, she received the Scott Benson Award for songwriting, and was selected to perform in the Songwriting Dept. showcase, the Performing Songwriter showcase and the Singer's Showcase events. In 2008, the Indie Singer Songwriter Association selected Aryn Michelle as a finalist in the categories of Singer/Songwriter of the Year and Best New Artist. In May 2009, she released her first professional album entitled "Lockless Heart", which was produced by Phillip Ferrell." It features original tracks complete with some dramatic violin solos (provided by Maddy Zani) and dynamic guitar solos (provided by John Taylor). The subject matter for this album has much to do with breaking free from isolation and experiencing the good and bad parts of love. Lockless Heart released in May 2009. |
