More than just an up and coming band, The Grey Life represents an outlook on life. Escaping the confinements of seeing life as "black or white", The Grey Life search for balance. By creating a blend of everything rock, emo, punk and post hardcore, they neither define nor confine themselves to one genre. With a combination of styles and influences, The Grey Life has created music that appeals to a variety of listeners.
In May of 2003, Mark Hodges, Dwayne Ratliff, Autry Upton and Matt DeMaet came together with the common purpose of combining their musical talents and expressive lyrics with hopes of a greater musical impact than the sum of their individual parts. With the chemistry intact, the addition of the intense vocal stylings of James Yarbrough brought the band to completion. Although all of the members had previous band experience, with this union The Grey Life immediately knew they had something.
Since the release of their five song EP/CD entitled "Delicate" the band has written numerous tracks that reflect their dedication to their roots and also express The Grey Life's constant evolution and malleability. With endless ambition and devotion to the music and their energetic live shows, they are winning over fans at an alarming rate.
