"a taste of Michael Hedges,a dash of Leo Kottke and a strong dose of originality"
--Poet Man Records
Born in East Detroit Michigan(back when it still was).
Began playing at age 8.
Early influences were: Ten Tears After, Jeff Beck, Black
Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin.
Traveled to Oregon where I spent 4 glorious years
playing pub's and tav's. First in Ashland, then in
Portland as well as Washington state.
Did a live (taped) set for KSOR, and my early material
was also played on KPOR-KCOR in 1982-83.
Although at the time, I had never heard of Leo
Kottke (I was ignorant of Acoustic players generally),
my playing was compared to his work, which in turn led
me to seek out his work as well as others such as
Micheal Hedges.
In the years since, I have spent some time in
California (6 years in San Rafael), Boston (1 year in
Cambridge), Florida (1 year in Sarasota), and then
finally back to Detroit to spend some time with my
brothers.
This CD Anubis 2, originally got some attention in
1999-2000 on independent/college radio stations both
domestically and internationally after "Helga's Song"
was included on the "Acoustic Rainbow Sampler" Vol.6
put out by Poet Man Records; a peppy little diddy that
my Bavarian friend loved, so, I named it for her. In 2002, I was in the middle of work on a 2nd CD when
I won the cancer lottery which has delayed its
completion.
Currently I am rapping up what i started then, and
hope to be done soon.
