During late 2002, the formation of a new band was about to take place from the simultaneous dissolution of two other bands. On one side of the guitar strings was Test Monkey, a hard-hitting original sounding rap-rock band and on the other side Eric Parks and Wildlife, a classic Rock and Blues band. Although very different in style and music, the two bands came to know one another and began to share one common denominator, "the drummer".

Both bands ultimately dissolved and Steady Grind was forged. The quintessential hard hitting drummer Brian "5.o" Hood and the heart pounding rhythms of bassist Steve "Steve-O" Edwards provide a solid backdrop for the lead guitarist, Slade's watery smooth licks and smoking hot leads which, are accentuated by the exceptional vocals and enigmatic harmonica solos of Eric Parks. Recently rhythm guitarist Don Newsome's Army reserve unit has been called to serve in Iraq and we await his safe return.
