The cold, dark winters of Maine have forged together a collection of musical talent known as Pushing Zero. The inception of this modern rock band begins years earlier in late 2001 when singer/songwriter, George Skala met drummer, Jason Loeb in a studio session. The two got along famously and, after completing graduate school, Skala returned to Loeb bringing with him fellow road warrior and Berklee bassist, Andrew Pelczar. Here in the forgotten, coastal town of Cape Split, among jagged cliffs and thunderous waves, the trio began work on its epic debut, "The Chosen". This ground-breaking EP, released in May of 2004, launched Pushing Zero rapidly onto the covers of industry trades, "Face" and "Goodtimes" magazines and sparked radio airplay on numerous rock radio stations. Then, at a local battle of the bands in June of 2004 (which PZ won), Pushing Zero completed its line-up by adding the weilding guitar prodigy, Adam Hauk. This young virtuoso, classically trained since age four, catapulted Pushing Zero into becoming an unreconcileable force. Demand for this supergroup was immediate and they began to play festivals (including the great grass roots Wheeliefest in Pennsylvania) and open for national acts (including: Ra, Plain White T's, Badfish, Steve Pearcy of Ratt, Albert Bouchard of Blue Oyster Cult, Paranoid Social Club, and Foghat) and capture the attention of industry masters, including: Don Grierson (Sheena Easton, J. Geils, Joe Cocker, Bob Seger), Mark Berry (David Bowie, Yes) and others. At the beginning of 2005, Pushing Zero workshopped with Emmy award-winning producer/performer/songwriter, and E-Street Band founder, Bill Chinnock. PZ have just released "Rite of Passage", another five song EP, on June 1st, 2005 and the band is begining to see victory on GarageBand and Broadjam with their songs receiving countless awards. PZ has recently conquered Maine's most popular modern radio station, WCYY, by winning the "Big Break" Contest, enabling them to play at Portland's State Theatre before a full house. Pushing Zero's songs have been placed into regular rotation on the playlist of America's largest independent radio station, 104.7 F.M. iRadio L.A. as well as Indie Rock Show, Indie Limelight Radio, Songwriter's Network, Band Radio, Insomnia Radio, Music4ipods, Under Truth Radio!, and many others. Pushing Zero are currently working on material for a debut, full-length release tba and planning their next musical campaign for Summer of 2006.
