MoSHaY’s musical journey started as a child in his Houston, Texas home. There his father would play guitar and compose songs, just using names of family members. MoSHaY’s dad, an accomplished musician, played the drums and guitar. Upon showing an interest in the drums, his father bought the first drum set for MoSHaY.

At the age of seven his interest shifted to singing acapella in church. Encouraged by his minister, who believed young people should have active roles in the church, MoSHaY developed his singing style there. By the third grade, MoSHaY was being introduced to various types of instruments and behind-the-scenes production by the choir director.

The choir director was an excellent pianist. She taught MoSHaY to play a portion of Fur Eloise and that taste of a piano lesson, hooked him on the piano as a principle instrument. After grade school, he began to concentrate more on his studies but music continued to be a major part of his life.

MoSHaY was introduced to musical greats like Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Al Green and Earth, Wind, & Fire, by his dad, who bought tapes they both enjoyed.

Presented with ”Most Outstanding Male Vocalist Awards“ during the last two years of high school, MoSHaY began to gain more confidence in performing publicly with the assistance of choir members and instructors.

High school talent shows, performances at homecomings, school related engagements, and, a solo performance at graduation transformed MoSHaY’s perception of his musical potential.

Upon entering college, a complex decision had to be made. In MoSHaY’s heart, he desired a degree in mechanical engineering and in music. In his mind, the secure choice was to complete a mechanical engineering degree and then a music degree. But, MoSHaY enrolled as a mechanical engineering student while attempting to suppress his musical side.

In his spare time, MoSHaY continued to make strides vocally and instrumentally by performing with a college gospel choir, and talent shows held on campus. The passion for music grew, along with songwriting, composing, and arranging skills. Each musical encounter intensified the desire to pursue music completely.

Recently, MoSHaY abandoned security to pursue what he’s known and loved basically all of his life...
