Mark Lewis Trio Mark Lewis, Keys and Vocals Andy Seifert, Bass and Guitar Andy Beaudoin, Drums and Percussion

When Mark Lewis and Andy Beaudoin began teaching at a Houston area college, the two professors of music began working on what was to become the Mark Lewis Trio. The songwriter Mark Lewis was fascinated by the subtle drumming of Andy Beaudoin, whose training includes a master's in Jazz from New England Conservatory. The two first met while attending The University of Texas as Mark was finishing a doctorate in music. Next to come was finding a bass player, and the addition of Andy Seifert, a musician with a mix of rock sensibilities and classical and jazz training joined the group. Their instrumentation is Fender Rhodes, piano, organ, upright bass, electric bass, guitar and kit.

Their first full length record was released on September 9 th on the Clark 's Label. This ten song album is a dark record blending pop/rock, improvisation, and slow sustained ballads.

The Mark Lewis Trio has been featured on KPFT's 24 PM, The Pat and Rosie Show, Wake up and Rock, on the Fox network and was the featured band in the Houston Chronicle's Preview Section for the week of October 3 rd.
