Spencer Linsley
Born November 22, 1989, Marin County CA
Spencer got his first guitar, a Fender Stratocaster on his fourth birthday.
He played guitar and mimicked his favorite song Green Day’s “Basket Case” to the horror of neighbors and family. At five he started playing piano and learned to read music. When Spencer was 10, the family relocated to Utah to support his skiing ambitions. In Spring of 2002, Spencer honed his skills as a “Freeskier” and he developed his own charismatic style of free skiing park and Big Mountain. By 13 he had attained sponsorships with Scott USA, Orage for Apparel, Salomon –skis and boots, and Snowbird Mountain Resort. He competed in the US Open and the X-Games. In Spring 2007, he graduated with Honors from the Waterford School, in Sandy, UT and was named MVP for the State 2A Division Soccer after winning the State Championship. "Spencer makes everybody around him look better," said coach Bob Capener. "That's a cliche, but he does it. He is the link."

It’s a lot for an 18 year old. But the real story is the Music.

JUNIOR GIANT progressed through several incarnations to its current form. Spencer started writing songs and laying down tracks in a local studio under the guidance of his father, Brian Linsley. Brian played professionally from the age of 16 and co-founded the Jim Carroll Band which signed with Atco in the late circa 1980.
Along with his childhood friend J.T. Nebeker on bass, Nashville vet Giles Reaves on drums – a band was hatched with pedigree, originality and radio friendly hooks.

Spencer’s many experiences and love of nature inform his lyrics, his youthful exuberance permeates his live performances and his natural charisma begs you to look a little longer.
