Josh Cavazos was born on February 24, 1986 in San Antonio Texas. He lives with his parents, younger sister and older brother. He is an honor roll student at William Taft High School where he is also a member of the Taft High School Orchestra.
Josh has been playing the piano since the age of seven. His inspiration for learning to play was the moment he heard, "Revolutionary Etude" by Frederic Chopin. Over the years, Josh has competed in several piano competitions, winning high positions and honors. As a studio musician, Josh is gaining rrecognition and has contributed to several independent recording projects. His keyboard skills and composing talents have been used by various local artists.
Josh's debut CD project entitled Reflections was released in August 2001. The project is a collection of original piano compositions, and its proceeds benefit the Cancer Therapy Research Center of San Antonio. To recognize this effort, Josh was chosen to be the feature artist on the website, music4him.com during August 2001. Josh's composition One was selected to appear on the Mars Music "Band Together...Artists Unite" Compilation CD released in January 2002. Proceeds from the compilation CD will benefit the United Way Disaster Relief Fund.
Josh volunteers his musical talents every weekend at Lackland Air Force Base by playing the piano for three church services. In addition, he is the accompanist for the Lackland Chapel Children's Choir. In his spare time, Josh enjoys composing, listening to all styles of music and watching movies.
