"Eclectoplasmacoustic folk'n rock" (tm) since 1997, creating and performing unique songs w/ unique sound. Social conscience in action: a singer-songwriter-social entrepreneur realizing lyrics thru life, and djembe based rig of "Buster" Braxton, an early influence on Carter Beauford of the DMB.

Greg Allen is the songwriter, singer, and guitarist

Granville "Buster" Braxton is the percussionist and sings backing vocals.

As Braxton says, "It's about the lyrics"...

Influences are those of a lifetime of musical fascination - from the New Christy Minstrels to Sam Cooke to REM and U2. Paul Simon, Michelle Shocked, Kiss, Steve Goodman, Townes Van Zandt. The sound of a guitar and voice working together, accented and highlighted by the djembe based percussion setup is like nothing else around. It's simple, stripped down, spacious - full and rich. There are no stars in this band. We sit beside each other. The guests that sit in with us are invited because they know about dynamics, texture and the importance of silence in music - the "sometimes less is more" approach.

The songs are never trivial, but always engaging, fun. The lyrics are thoughtful and insightful and the subject matter covers the important stuff - life, getting along, understanding, love, living it now. And war. And politics.

The band formed independently of SongSharing, but during its' infancy, which had a great influence on us early in the game. SongSharing primarily entertains audiences with limited access to the current music scene - seniors, hospital patients, rehab centers... Very influential on our sound, material, and most importantly our staying power...
