When Martin James composes a song for Century Plant, he intends that ultimately his warm blood will leak from your speakers as you listen. Though not completely, Martin James has largely forgiven himself for the recklessness in parts of his own past. He's forgiven himself for being wrong, insensitive, selfish..and too failingly human too often,

Life is imperfect. So is this songwriter, so are this songwriter's songs, but they're real, because they come from someone taking a hard look back at themselves after many of the results are in.what they've gotten right. what they wish they could have over.what they need to be more like going forward.

The greatest beauty in life derives from realities seen in their truest form.

Art, Architecture, music, our lives.are all kinda the same in that sense.

The magnificence of our humanity is in knowing and seeing the good and the bad in our characters and actions. If we deny either, how can we act to become better? For Martin James, the songs are part of his realization and to whatever extent that others hear themselves in his melodies and lyrics.the songs will have served their greatest purpose.

Martin James is an Architect and a builder, married, who designs, builds and lives in inner city townhomes in Houston , Texas .
